Stamford Apple Day 2006 was held at the Stamford Arts Centre, using the Ballroom and the Blue Room, with over 1000 visitors on the day.
The East Of England Apples and Orchards Project experts attended again, and were inundated with people bringing apples along for identification. Each year, the EEAOP's apple variety display is a major attraction and each year more apples seem to be on display - well over 200 this year.
There was lots to see and do on the day, with a major attraction being the fun and games (adults really like apple bobbing),
A major feature of the Ballroom was the children's poster competition display, with some fantastic contributions from local schools.
Stamford College catering students were selling produce made at the college, using locally grown apples.
Slow Foods also had a stall, promoting local produce.
Stamford Juice Company had a busy stall, selling locally produced apple juices and ciders.
