A most successful and enjoyable Apple Day was held in the Stamford Arts Centre on Saturday 1st October 2011.
In addition to our own stalls we had representations and sales from the Lincs Wildlife Trust, New College Stamford, Stamford Juice Company, Stamford Embroiderers Guild, Simon Croson Honey, Jollydale Cider Stamford, Country Markets, Transition Towns and Rassells Nurseries.
Children from St Augustines, St Gilberts and Copthill schools entered the Childrens Poster Competition which was sponsored by Carols Driving School, Looms Clock and Watchmakers, The Rotary Club of Stamford, Stamford Mercury and Central WoolGrowers.

Apple tasting sessions, of over 16 locally grown apples, was available throughout the day and there were apple sales to allow visitors to take home the apple varieties that they had particularly liked!

Many visitors brought along apples for the experts from the East of England Apple and Orchards Project team to identify and our own SCOG gurus were on hand to provide advice and to answer apple questions.
